For this session, you will need the following:
PHYSICAL ARRANGEMENTS
Classroom capable of grouping participants into "buzz" groups.
OTHER ADVANCE PREPARATION
Prior to arrival of participants, print on board or easel pad:
Keeping the honors alive select assistant to distribute handouts as participants arrive.
Set out some eye catching displays of recognition examples.
SESSION NARRATIVE
The primary focus is to facilitate a free exchange of ideas on each of the topics below, emphasizing invention and innovation, leaving evaluation and selection elements to local lodges and "on scene" application.
If session size is under twenty, will ask each individual to state name, lodge, and hometown. If larger, will simply introduce myself, letting my uniform and square knots provide credentials. [2 min. Elapsed 2]
State briefly that the mathematics of 6 topics in 50 minutes necessitates time limits. Describe timing process. Divide session into buzz groups. (Number of groups to be determined by the physical layout of classroom and types (fixed or movable) of seating.) [2 min elapsed 4]

Buzz groups 6 minute discussion, 4 minute reporting by one idea per group in succession.
Topic 2. Types of recognition. [6 min. Elapsed 20]
Rapid demonstration by session leader of items listed in handout, and then brainstorming for additional items.
Topic 3. Venues for presentation.
