GOAL

To understand how we can make use of the Scout Oath and Law in our daily decision making.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES OF THE SESSION

At the end of this session, each participant will be able to show:

That a lack of trust in any situation can ruin the ability of the group to complete it's task.
How to rebuild trust after it has been lost.
How trust can create a sense of well–being for all.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT REQUIRED

Chalkboard, chalk, and eraser

Dry erase board, markers, and eraser

PHYSICAL ARRANGEMENT

Large open room, must be able to move chairs and stack the chairs out of the way.

OTHER ADVANCE PREPARATION

Prepared role–play situations and cards with numbers for participants.

Set up chairs in fashion needed.

Write on board:

Session name
For each leader:
Name
Lodge name
Council name
Hometown
And one unusual fact about him

SESSION NARRATIVE

After checking to make sure that everyone understand the direction of this session, we will begin with the next role–play experience, followed by discussion.

Suggested role–plays:

Scoutmaster who doesn't trust the youth to lead a meeting.
Scouts to carry through on what they say they are gong to do.
Teacher trusting students to finish project while having to leave the room for awhile.

Discussion Topics will be derived from the experience of the role–plays.
